Les états cohérents ont connu ces dernières années un développement considérable dans de très nombreux domaines de la physique et sont devenus un sujet florissant en mathématique, en particulier à l’interface de celle-ci avec la physique (méthodes de quantification). De nombreux ouvrages leur ont été consacrés, ainsi qu’un numéro spécial du Journal of Physics A en 2012. Au vu de la rapidité des progrès enregistrés, le temps semble venu de faire le point sur les différents développements récents.
